Erin Worrell

is an associate with Demeter Communications. She offers Demeter clients more than a decade of experience in managing communication and education programs. Her career began with Texas Beef Council (TBC) working in the areas of communication, education, nutrition, issues management and export market development while also serving as liaison to various beef producer and industry groups. Throughout her time at TBC she was involved in the strategic direction and day-to-day implementation of projects ranging from youth education to on-site events. She also has a strong background in writing and content organization.

Her involvement with issues management at TBC included working with Texas industry organizations, state agencies, cattlemen and media to coordinate the Texas beef industry response to bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) in December 2003. Erin’s work in export market development included hosting foreign delegates and training Texas beef companies.

Erin’s childhood days were spent on the many farms in rural southwest Louisiana visited by her father, a county agriculture extension agent. Her family had a small livestock operation which allowed her to compete at every cattle, sheep and hog show she could convince her family to attend. She received her bachelor’s degree in animal science with an emphasis in production and communication from Texas A&M University and currently resides with her family in the Texas Hill Country community of Harper.

Random Acts

  • Erin embraces the many adventures that come with being mom of two future cowboys and maintains a blog to keep out-of-town family and friends informed of the regular hilarity.
  • She is well suited for life in a rural community and enjoys all the volunteer and pro bono work that comes with it.
  • Erin operates a rooster taxi service – well, not really. But she once had a rooster ride on the frame underneath her SUV all the way to town and back. The rooster survived unscathed with only a few frazzled tail feathers to show for it.

Brushes with Greatness

  • Erin is truly a Triple Crown winner: County Farm Bureau Queen, County Cattlemen’s Association Queen and Louisiana Suffolk Association Queen.
  • She received a roaring applause at the state 4-H show as a 9-year-old in swine showmanship when she was the only one who got her pig to walk through the chair obstacle three times instead of the required two.
  • She once ran into singer Lyle Lovett on the Texas A&M Campus. For this small-town girl, that is a major brush with greatness.
