Joyce Koranda

is an associate with Demeter Communications. She has over 30 years experience in media planning and buying. Joyce is an expert in all forms and levels of media: national, regional and local; print, newspaper, television, radio, outdoor, mobile and internet.

Her knowledge of media and how people use information sources is a great asset to marketing programs. By using research, project goals and media knowledge, she analyzes media choices and recommends the best options to reach the target audience – on time, on budget and on purpose. She combines negotiation skills with careful attention to detail.

Joyce got an early and successful start in agriculture. Joyce claims she had to have picked a hundred acres of field corn by hand on the family farm. Whatever the acreage, she got the job done. Getting the job done is what Joyce has been doing for a wide variety of clients. She was a lead media buyer for 21 years at CMF&Z. Her experience at Rockwell-Collins in marketing communications and doing research at Purdue Libraries has helped her develop the skills to dig deep and look at all sides of a project to make the best media solutions and recommendations.

Random Acts

  • Joyce pitches in at Borst Furniture & Upholstery, co-owned by her husband, Gary, and his brother. She now knows more than she thought possible about how to build a sofa from scratch.
  • She has visions of learning how to quilt with the assistance of her sister-in-law, a master of the craft.
  • She spends time with her two stepsons and their families whenever possible. Seems a great deal of this time is at birthday parties, which are numerous when you have nine grandchildren.

Brushes with Greatness

  • Joyce once attended a cocktail party in Great Britain’s Parliament.
  • She met Bob Hoover who set altitude and speed records in several North American and Rockwell aircraft plus performed incredible feats at air shows. He wore the thickest glasses she had ever seen. Supposedly they frosted over when he set the altitude record.
  • One of her best friends is Ginger Spice (real name) and she is sure that she will be the next Great American author.
