Kerry Frei

is an associate with Demeter Communications—in addition to being a mother and a rancher. She has over 10 years experience in marketing, public relations, event planning, community development and customer service.

Kerry’s talents were refined while working at a community chamber of commerce and the South Dakota Department of Tourism, where she was responsible for planning events, developing promotional materials and assisting rural communities. She’s served on state and national tourism committees and boards of directors. Kerry has also worked on numerous special events for state governors and started a marketing consultancy business.

Kerry counts herself lucky to work with non-profit community development and agricultural organizations to inform consumers and producers.

Kerry grew up on a ranch in northwest South Dakota. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a marketing emphasis from Chadron State College. Today, Kerry lives on a ranch two hours from anywhere—in beautiful western South Dakota. She and her husband Lance raise registered and commercial Black Angus cattle. They have two daughters, Bentley and Bridger.

Brushes with Greatness

  • While on a trip to the U.K., a visit to Buckingham Palace quickly became a “brush with greatness” when Queen Elizabeth and her mother were escorted through the Palace gates—just feet away from where Kerry was standing.
